Occupation and socio-economic background
He attended school in Braintree and furthered his education by graduating from Harvard University with a degree in Law. He married Abigail Smith, moved to Boston and had four children. He was then elected into the Massachusetts Assembly and attended the First Continental Congress.

Constitutional Convention
John Adams role in the Constitutional Convention was to ratify the Articles of Confederation and assist with formation of the Constitution.

Arguments for the Ratification
John Adams was a part of the states ratification and voted for the Constitution. Adams believed that the Articles of Confederation were weak and needed to have a stronger central government that all the states could follow. He believed that the Constitution could also help with the growth of America.
